The ‘Open Access Program’ from Open Biosystems is aimed at enabling the life science community through straight-forward access to the latest technologies developed in the field. As rapid advancements continue to be made in RNAi and other genomic technologies, Open Biosystems has created a program to enable large numbers of investigators to access these technologies through existing core facilities.

The Wistar Institute has partnered with Open Biosystems to provide Wistar researchers with the latest in whole genome RNAi collections through the Open Access RNAi Program. This collaboration allows all researchers at Wistar continued access to Open Biosystems' evolving RNAi product lines.

The Open Access RNAi Program at The Wistar Institute includes the following shRNA libraries:

Human and Mouse Lentiviral shRNA libraries.

All Wistar researchers can access these lentiviral shRNA resources through the Protein Expression and Libraries Facility. In addition the Open Access Partner Portal is a tool developed to facilitate:

  • Easy access to advanced querying and ordering from your specific open access program content. Orders placed via the portal can be fulfilled by your institute’s core facility.
  • Early access to content on your Open Access Program resources, application data, protocols and other technological advances at Open Biosystems.
  • Open Access customer forums to enable interactions with other partners that are working with leading edge RNAi resources.
  • Sharing of data, protocols and successes.
  • Submission of application data for publication on the Open Biosystems portal and the opportunity to win prizes and credit.
  • To access The Wistar Institute portal into Open Biosystems please login with your customer ID and password.
